This free series will guide you through the application process, covering both U.S. and international admissions requirements. Each session features faculty, admissions experts, and current graduate students who will share insights, strategies, and practical advice.
Here are the upcoming sessions:
October 2 (9:00–10:30 AM EST) – The Grad School Journey: Is It Right for You? Explore reasons to pursue a Master’s or Ph.D., the realities of graduate school life (workload, research, emotional challenges), and career paths. Learn how to prepare for applications, including letters of recommendation, personal statements, and interviews.
October 24 (9:00–10:30 AM CST) – Navigating Your Options: Choosing Countries, Programs, and Faculty Compare academic systems in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Learn tips for researching programs, understanding requirements, and choosing the right faculty advisor. We’ll also discuss financial considerations like tuition, scholarships, and assistantships.
November 21 (9:00–10:30 AM CST) – A Peek Behind the Curtain: Faculty Panel Hear directly from faculty about the U.S. Ph.D. structure, advisor-student relationships, funding models, and different academic cultures worldwide. Includes live Q&A.
January 23 (9:00–10:30 AM CST) – Hear from Those Who Know Best: Current Grad Students Panel Current Master’s and Ph.D. students will share their personal application experiences, challenges and triumphs, advisor relationships, and tips for balancing life inside and outside academia.
