A summer research experience can significantly shape a student’s trajectory, but without clear expectations, communication, and support, it can also become unproductive or harmful. Built by faculty who have mentored over 75 undergraduates, Coltie improves student success by making academic experiences more transparent, measurable, and accessible while avoiding added burden on faculty. It introduces real-time visibility so issues can be identified and addressed early instead of surfacing years later through slow, indirect feedback.
